ECMI Kosovo and Mayor Kadri Rahimaj Unite to Prevent School Dropouts in Kamenica
On Friday 15th November, 2024 ECMI Kosova Project Manager. Mr. Arben Osmani had the opportunity to meet. once again with Mayor Kadri Rahimaj to discuss the progress of ECMI Kosovo’s project, which has been active since October 2022 in partnership with UNICEF and MESTI.
Our initiative, involving 15 municipalities, including Kamenica, is focused on preventing school dropouts at the pre-university level.
During the conversation, we emphasized the importance of the ongoing support ECMI Kosova has provided, from capacity-building trainings for school-level and municipal PRTANs to helping draft Kamenica’s Municipal Action Plan for the Prevention of School Dropout.
I have urged Mayor Rahimaj to move forward with public hearings and the Municipal Assembly’s approval of the final draft to address all at-risk children in the community as per case specifics.
To date, most of the involved municipalities have already approved their action plans, taking full responsibility for dropout prevention as required by Kosovo’s legislation and National Protocol.
We are pleased to share that the Mayor has personally committed to advancing Kamenica’s Draft-Municipal Action Plan as soon as possible.
Together, we are committed to ensuring that no child is left behind.
These sessions are part of the project: “Supporting continuous access and retention in public education in 15 municipalities of Kosovo”, financially supported by the European Union in Kosovo in partnership with the Unicef Kosovo Programme
