ECMI Kosovo has developed a policy brief assessing the minority communities figures established by the Kosovo Population and Housing Census 2011. The policy brief compares final census data, released in September 2012, with previous population estimates made by ECMI Kosovo and the OSCE Mission in Kosovo in 2010 and 2011, as well as electoral participation data. Minority population statistics are of great significance in Kosovo, not least because a series of community rights and provisions are linked to them.

European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI) Kosovo and the Centre for Legal Aid and Regional Development (CLARD) developed a policy brief regarding the domestic violence in Kosovo. The policy bried if part of the project ‘Enhancing the Positive Impact of the Law for Vulnerable and Marginalised Groups in Kosovo’ funded by the European Union and managed by the European Commission Liaison Office to Kosovo.

During 2011, ECMI Kosovo has received reports that several schools in Kosovo have segregated classes for Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian children. ECMI Kosovo considers this a serious form of discrimination and a particularly problematic practice considering the current repatriation process. This policy brief explains the exact meaning of segregation in education, describe the main domestic and international laws dealing with this issue, describe and discuss the situation in Kosovo and provide several concrete policy recommendations to address this issue.

Peshqit hanë mijëra tonë plastikë në vit, duke e transferuar atë në zinxhirin ushqimor te peshqit më të mëdhenj dhe gjitarët detarë. Mikroplastika konsumohet edhe nga njerëzit përmes ushqimit dhe në ajër. Është vlerësuar se globalisht, njerëzit konsumojnë ekuivalentin e një karte krediti plastike çdo javë, dhe pritet që në 2050 të ketë më shumë plastikë se peshq në det.
