ECMI Kosovo Strengthens Collaboration with Ferizaj Schools to Tackle Dropout Risks: Strategic Meeting and Municipal Action Plan Finalized
On Tuesday, 17 September 2024, ECMI Kosovo, represented by the Project Manager, held a strategic meeting with the School Dropout Prevention team at “Ahmet Hoxha” Primary and Lower Secondary School in Ferizaj.
The discussion focused on addressing critical and immediate challenges related to at-risk students. Several individual cases were reviewed in detail, and specific interventions were proposed.
Following specialized assessment, ECMI Kosovo recommended the formal initiation of these cases through the EWS and school psychologist and urged adherence to the official state protocol.
Relevant stakeholders, including the Municipal Directorate of Education, were promptly informed to ensure timely and effective action.
As part of these efforts, ECMI Kosovo’s Project Manager, also had a brief but productive meeting with the Municipal Education Director in Ferizaj, Mr. Afrim Llabjani.
The discussion centered on finalizing the Municipal Action Plan for the prevention of school dropouts, a key component of the broader municipal strategy.
This plan will serve as a framework for addressing dropout risks and ensuring a coordinated, multi-stakeholder approach to student retention.
ECMI Kosovo remains dedicated to enhancing educational outcomes and mitigating the risk of school dropouts. These efforts reflect our commitment to promoting sustainable, inclusive educational practices that align with national policies and international best practices.
These sessions are part of the project: “Supporting continuous access and retention in public education in 15 municipalities of Kosovo”, financially supported by the European Union in Kosovo in partnership with the Unicef Kosovo Programme.
